About us

Twenty bighas by the river, and fifteen years of building on it

Ananda River View started in 2009 as a picnic spot with four gazebos on family land. It is now a resort, an amusement park, a zoo, two pools and a convention hall — added in phases, one at a time, without ever being shut for a rebuild.

The story

Bought as farmland, opened as a picnic spot

The Ahmed family bought the land in 2009 — twelve bighas of low ground beside the river, most of it under water for part of the year. Two more parcels followed, taking the property to twenty bighas. The first version of Ananda was four gazebos, a kitchen shed and a boat, and it was built for the family’s own weekends.

People asked to book it. Then they asked for somewhere to sleep, so the first six cottages went up in 2013. Then they asked what there was for the children to do, which is how the amusement park arrived in 2016 — the Ferris wheel and the Ananda Express first, everything else since.

The property has grown in five phases and has never closed for a rebuild. The park does not back onto the cottages, the restaurant does not sit under the ride noise, and the river is reachable from almost anywhere without crossing a service road. That is not an accident of layout; it is what fifteen years of adding one piece at a time produces.

Anisur still walks the property every morning before the gates open. His daughter Farhana runs it, and has since 2016.

How we operate

Six decisions we have not changed

None of these are marketing positions. Each one has cost us something, which is the test of whether it was real.

One property, no shuttle

Everything you book is inside the same boundary. Nobody in your group has to drive between the ceremony and the cottage.

Planted, not paved

Sixty per cent of the land is trees, lawn and water. The buildings were fitted into the site rather than the site cleared for them.

Built for families

The shallow pool separated by a channel, the height checks at the gate, the childrens menu that is not an afterthought — all of it is deliberate.

Alcohol-free, permanently

Not a policy we review. It is what makes the property work for school groups, family weddings and the mosque on site.

Local employment

Sixty staff, almost all from Narayanganj, with safety certification and hospitality training funded by the property.

Prices that do not move

Rates are printed on the packages page and do not change by season, by weekend or by how full we are.

The place

What fifteen years of planting looks like

The property is deliberately over-planted. Stand at the restaurant deck and the amusement park is screened by trees — you hear it, you do not look at it. Walk from the gate to the river and you cross four different kinds of planting before you reach the water.
